One of the advantages of computer based learning is that the student can use a simulator to aid in the learning objectives. Sometimes learning what not to do is as important as learning what to do - and a simulator allows this learning to occur without damaging equipment.
The headbox simulator is used to teach the basics of headbox operation - jet/wire, consistency control, fan pump, machine stock pump interaction etc.
The simulator must be installed on your machine. The download is 57Mb so depending on your connection - it may take some time to download. Download the simulator here. If you have the runtime engine (either directly from National Instruments or if you have downloaded software from this site before, you do not need to download the runtime again - click here for an installer without the runtime engine (5 Mb)
After downloading, click on the file to start the installation process. Note that the simulator was developed using National Instruments software and you will need to agree to their licenses agreement. Also when you start the simulator it will ask for your name and email address. This info is only used for application tracking purposes.
